Johnny Depp is one of those actors whom lots of people will go see in almost any movie. He has so much star power and is known for being such an interesting actor that even when he makes a bad movie, people still want to watch it. It probably helps that he’s nice to look at.

But what about if he is in a movie in which you can’t actually see him? In the new animated film Rango, Depp provides the voice of the main character, a lizard who accidentally becomes sheriff of a lawless town. Find out if Jeff and Jason plan to see Johnny Depp in this cartoon western.

Dialog

Jeff

Jason: I usually don’t get psyched for children’s movies, but, Rango?

Jeff: What’s that?

Jason: It’s gonna be really good. It’s an animated western with Johnny Depp.

Jeff: What’s his involvement? What character?

Jason: Well he plays this lizard guy.

Jeff: A lizard guy?

Jason: He’s the star. He’s in a lawless outpost in the Wild West in need of a new sheriff, you know? And so he shows up to reign in the outlaws.

Jeff: I don’t know, it’s not very exciting to me when celebrities lend their voices to movies like that.

Jason: Really?

Jeff: It just doesn’t do it for me. It just seems like, you know, often times it’s just easy work for these actors. They can sit there and have a beer while they’re doing their voice work.

Jason: I think it’s really cool, like it’s a side of the actor that you don’t normally get to see. Just them being goofy or being this character that they could never really play, cause they wouldn’t have enough makeup in the world to make Johnny Depp look like Rango.
