I read a myth-shattering report by Michael Licenblat, B.Sc. - "7 ways to prevent yourself becoming Stressed-Out Over-worked and Run-Down".

Michael states 7 mistakes that we are used to that lead to us leading stressful lives. Ensuring that those do not happen will reduce the stress.

These mistakes are -

  1. Working as if you are unbreakable.
  2. Thinking yourself to death.
  3. Setting unrealistic time-frames.
  4. Suppressing your feelings.
  5. Having no sense of purpose beyond work.
  6. Failing to learn from stressful situations.
  7. Being too self-focused.

According to Michael, trying to relieve stress is not 'the' ultimate solution to the problem - the stress in our lives; one needs to be resilient to pressures and stress situations to be able to handle these situations better.
