I read a myth-shattering report by Michael Licenblat, B.Sc. - "7 ways to prevent yourself becoming Stressed-Out Over-worked and Run-Down".
Michael states 7 mistakes that we are used to that lead to us leading stressful lives. Ensuring that those do not happen will reduce the stress.
These mistakes are -
- Working as if you are unbreakable.
- Thinking yourself to death.
- Setting unrealistic time-frames.
- Suppressing your feelings.
- Having no sense of purpose beyond work.
- Failing to learn from stressful situations.
- Being too self-focused.
According to Michael, trying to relieve stress is not 'the' ultimate solution to the problem - the stress in our lives; one needs to be resilient to pressures and stress situations to be able to handle these situations better.
