Unquestionably, it is nice to hold people dear to your heart and value their friendship, because it shows you are caring, warm-hearted and respectful, and being respectful is what we were taught by our parents.

But what about putting people on a pedestal and not receiving as much value as you give to them? That really hurts.

To me, calling a friend to have a quick talk, writing a brief e-mail, inviting friends to a coffee shop or cafe (for half an hour or so), or texting them show you care and value their friendship. These are very small things which take only a few minutes with no physical effort and exhaustion. However, doing all this "right on time" with no delay (if not because of very imporant reasons) requires a subtle wit, which I appreciate extremely a lot. If things are not done right on time, and if words are broken, and if I feel I am being undervalued, I change my route to another destination but this time behaving more sensibly. I am at peace with myself, my rules and my characteristic features. I carry out my responsibilities for people very carefully because it is so easy to worry people, but not honorable! I also know that life is all about giving and taking. You take as much as you give. However, the funny thing is although I am aware of all this (that sometimes I do not get what I give), I still set people on a pedestal more than they deserve. This is a part of my caring side, even if it ends up being disappointed eventually. I place value on people because each person is a wonderful creation of GOD. It is hard to admit it but experiencing this many times before, I am avoiding close relationships with people any more to get less hurt. But now mattter how hard you try to avoid something out of your way, it keeps coming your way.

Thank you, my friends, Isaac, Saladeen, Yulia and Reader.

To me, being valued by others - those who are near and dear to my heart - is very important. I cherish their closeness, friendship and presence in my life with my whole heart, and naturally, I expect the same concern from them. A sense of concern shows that they care for you and it empowers the mutual bonds. But we do not have to be close to each other to show it. Sometimes we have to be away from the people we love, but it does not mean we love them any less. Distance enriches the bonds, in constrast, as with my childhood friend who studied in a distant city, far from home. We kept calling each other at first but as she and I got busier, our calls became less. This year, we did not talk to each other in 3 months. She returned last week, and we met. No matter how many months we do not hear our voice, the moment we meet, it is just like we were always together. We never feel alienated. Instead, we feel way much closer. I do love her a lot like my real sister, and she puts a lot of value on me, as I do. We know that even if we do not speak in a whole year, our hearts are still connected.

Consequently, I agree that proximity does not provide value all the time. Being connected at heart brings about love, respect, happiness, and value. But it is all about giving and receiving in the end.

Have a value-able day today! Smile

That's very interesting notion of your blog.

I think to apreciate the value of less you have to plunge into more firslty.

As for me I  cannot live without an intimate friend. we are not afraid to bother each other and even show our negative emotions and attitudes to each other actions,

At the same time I have some friends   who  come to me once a month or even rare , we can have an enjoyble time but still I think that  the true freind is close to you  and knows all your ups and downs. I think your true friend is much more than a sister. It s a sister by soul and spirit.

My ideas are bit different, Okay, let me shoot straight to the question.

Value, less or more?

Neither less nor more, rather value is based on understanding. To put it simple: The more understanding you have the less you need to talk, and greater the distance the more briskly you walk.

Some of my best friends (in my real life) don't talk to me for ages but I always keep them in my instances, and in my prayers, I have no doubt they do the same, and whenever chance get us connect again, we again cheerish one another like we were never apart.

...................................

In the beggining, we try to evaluate a person, we are curious who we are talking to, we get some understanding, we make friendship, trust grow, more and more day after day, and after having perfect understanding, we don't need words, for friendship is greater than words.

I treat my best friends like I treat myself, and I don't need to pampered them with excessive words,if they came to me  as my guests (sometimes) at my home, I treat them like my family members. I don't throw a huge banquet or feast in their honor, for I know they feel comfort while I take less care of them, and vice versa.

To the contrary, if I invite some new friends for a dinner or a lunch at my home, I want to throw a feast or banquet in their honor, and vice versa.

New ones deserve a feast and old ones deserve a trust.

It's true!!!
The people of our days are becoming colder, they don't understand the values of life, of friendship, they are increasingly distant from each other.
Values need to be restored!
