Let's go folks! One slang on day!

An idea suddenly occurred to me …......we can share the slangs or useful expressions you learned from movies or songs and you think very useful and practical in daily life  together…...................

There are many slangs in english and some of them can't be found in your textbook…. i think only the native speakers understand the deep meaning of it….

but they are very useful and enrich  your language ., the problem is we seldom have the oppotunity to use them in our daily life so despite that we may have read the slang b4 but forget it very soon…......

eg :"she is always running the show' means she is the boss she decides …......

BEIJING BOTANIC GARDEN, one of the EYE CANDY tourist attractions in beijing is her next stop.

She will probably stay longer in the city than it's planned.The city has too many Eye Catching things to be enjoyed, some ancient monuments and ULTRA CHIC ART WORKS  as well as Avant-garde architectures, just to name a few.In her list are a colorful and highly stylized Beijing's Opera, a stunning Acrobat and a famous traditional tea ceremony, fouzi temple where you can have a glimse of an ancient culture.

I think if you are living here, what emerson said was not true, Change takes place everyday here.It seems to me everything is transient, things, place, people and ideas.This is the most dynamic place on earth, yet you can still find lots of ancient monuments.It affects everyone for better or worse and I believe life is getting better and better for most people.

She told me, now she has a new driver, a tall, attractive girl after she fired the former driver because after she got some reliable information about the city, she realized that  she doesn't need a master kungfu in a civilized society with low criminal record.Beijing is one of the safest cities in the world.Ask any tourist you meet or who just comes back from there to assure yourself.

She decided to cancel her visit to Tibet until the problem of clean water, caused by the global warming and climate change,  has been solved.How can you plant some Plants and Fruits if there is no water ? If you want to know sth about the tragedy, yes, it is a tragedy for the Tibetian whose life mostly depend on Water, watch CNN or BBC world news.Global warming and Climate change are two global HOT topics these days.Hardly anyday we don't read any of them in newspaper or see on tv.Sadly it's Tibet on the breaking news, a beautiful and peaceful country we love.

By the way, a lot of sunshine is unable to get rid of your gloomy feelings?

Beijing is one the cities i like the best. especially the tall and straight trees along the roads. These trees are rarely seen in the city i live in. Every time when i walk on the avenue i enjoy the cool and tranquile atmosphere there.

The only thing i don't like Beijing is the people there. They are not so hospitality to people from other places not including foreignes. Besides i don't like dialect of beijing. Pronunciation of Beijingers sounds terrible to me.

One of the foreiners i knew from Canada  lost his wallet and passport when he took a cat nap in the subtube. Beijing is safe to chinese but  for foreigners they should buck their ideas up. Anyway they are eye catchers when walking on the street. Is your cousine Look like a chinese? Tell her to be careful.

Yesterday when it was raining and i felt blue, I said to my parents:"I feel comfortable and warm at home" "only on such an occassion you say so?!" said my mother."west and east , a man's home is the best."

Sunshine always make me feel good and drive any blues  away from me. 

BTW:"where is Fouzi Temple?" i have never heard about it before.

I ambeaten up.  I am washed up. I have run up.I am shattered.

LUCKY BREAK

She had cancelled her trip to Tibet and went to Beijing where she had a great time. What a lucky break !!

Because of global warming that changes the climate, the weather in Tibet will probably get worse.There is still lack of water there.Life is getting more difficult, especially for the peasant.And it's getting hotter. It seems the heat can't escape because there is too much gasses in the atmosphere.We don't know when the weather there will be back to normal.

While in Beijing she's seen a lot of things that enrich her life.One of them in Beijing BOTANIC GARDEN. Sorry I forgot to tell you about the BOTANIC GARDEN.It was raining when she got there, but fortunately she took an umbrella and a raincoat.She thought ' finally I found a peaceful and quite place in Beijing where I can be on my own '.It is so beautiful and romantic.What a spectacular view! There are lovely woods, hedges and ever green fields which full of flowers in summer.If you come to Beijing, don't miss the chance to visit it.She didn't expect to enjoy it so much.

Now she is going to Bar Street to relax and to meet some the deviant geniuses who's made all possible in China over the past few years.If possible she'll avoid some clods, slobs or boors that I heard like to hang out there.She hates wasting her time to deal with them.I think it is easy for her to make friend with the geniuses because she looks like one of them.In fact, she is a Chinese descent.Her father used to be a grain trader but went bankrupt, unable to compete with the mainlanders who descended from the north in recent years when the china began to ascent rapidly. 

That is her main reason and what she has seen so far has aroused her burning desire to learn everything about china and its 5000 years of civilization and it's people as well as what it all stick together. The main obstacle is She doesn't speak Chinese, how can she do it ?I hope she'll get what she wants, at least a piece of what she's dreamed of.

She'sn't seen anyone riding a motorcycle since she's been in the city.Is it not allowed in Beijing ?

 don't know but 2 years ago or maybe 3 years ago i went to Beijing , i saw some electic icycles running on the street. But i did hear that electric bicycles as well as motorcycles might have been been banned there. In fact i think electric bicycles and bikes are more suitable to china. Air pollution is so serious and the street is so crowded. There shouldn't be more cars in china. But Of couse at the same time i know as a international city and capital of china, it will looks ridiculous if there are only bikes and electric bicycles. In english we say:you can't have your cake and eat it too.  

Tibet may be the last place which hasn't be polluted yet in china. I hope all people keep the environment there untouched hand in hand.

Yesterday i watched a news about Japan. Japnese prime minister Shinzo Abe tried  several new type cars which was said to have no pollution to the air. we chinese really learn many things from our neighbour country -japan. In economy we lag behind Japan 50 years but in certain concept/idea we lag behind japan more than 50 years.

Yesterday my mother bought a tollery. Today when she checked the number the first 3 numbers were the same," My god! I won the lottery? " but when the last 2 numbers came out which were different from what my mother bought, she was so depressed.

AN EYE-OPENING EXPERIENCE

There is no temple named fouchi, the right one is WOFOSI.She got the wrong name from some taxi drivers who spoke Beijing dialect which totally different from the Mandarin, and their pronunciation sounds weired to our ear so it's very hard to understand, even to her chinese guide.The right one is from you which I forgot to tell her because of my fast-paced activities recently. 

After driving around and around for about an hour near the Tiananmen square, she couldn't find the temple and gave up her searching.She finally went to Terracotta Warriors, one of the unusual historical objects, very old artifacts which is well preserved.It was an eye-opening experience, a bit of ancient chinese culture, to highly the emperor's obsession with his best soldiers.The place aslo provides details about it's history and you can stop by the souvenir shop like in other tourist places where you can feel the strong spirit of commerce.

Let's talk about Japan, one of the most advanced countries in the world.

In making cars, consumer electronics and other high tech products, Japan is superior.They are making goods we love like large LCD tv, Digital camera, High Difinition tv, DVD players, Hybred cars, Walkman Cell phone, and many others.In brief, they have world class manufacturing plants.They are also many aspects of their life we can admire such as a highly skilled and dedicated top bureaurats who control and lead the country.The captains of their industries are capable and highly dedicated to their companies.The people are one of the most disciplined and civilized societies in the world.Their rich and ancient culture is well known.But it doesn't mean everthing is perfect in Japan. It doesn't mean that their leaders have never made any colosal mistakes in the past.

In fact, In the last decades they made some colosal economic blunders, called the Japanese economic bubble where big and small businesses, gangsters, organized crimes, amateour speculators, and average citizens as well as western fund managers played freely in frenzy way in speculative bubble in PROPERTY, STOCK MARKET, PAINTINGS and COMMODITIES that caused a severe recession and destroyed a lot of jobs.In the aftermate of the bubble that burst, bankcrupcy was widespread in banking, security houses, retail giants, even in the famous car makers such as NISSAN motor and Mitsubishi motor, just to name a few.Standard of living fell, job loses kept soaring.It's really the economic badly damaged for years to come.Of course, a great number of people went bankcrupt, unable to pay their debts to banks as well as to shark lenders.

You're right that we can learn many things from the japanese, but learning English I think is one of the exceptions.I don't think many japaneses speak much English better than you.Another things I don't like to learn from them are Workaholic, they work to die. Computer Game addiction is a serious disease in my opinion. I dislike Pachinco and Karauke, a shallow and artificial sing a song that makes me numb.

Don't believe any politicians, Japanese politician is not exception.The political system that is rotten to the core. Honestly I know sth about that.

with flying colors(0sucessfully)

Many countries or regions experienced bubble economy especially at the primary stage of economic development. But they passed the recession with flying colors at last. After years of over-heated development i am afraid china will face this trouble. Rising property price as well as rising prices of everything is all the sign of bubble economy. Hope the situation could be controlled.

Surely, I don't like many characteristics of Japanese just like  i don't like some characteristics of americans or people from others countries. But speaking of the advanced technology and advanced attitutes towards environment as well as towards energy-saving, i really admire them. I hope one day the air condition of china is the same clean and fresh as that of Japan.

Some Japanese told me that Flying colours is always their mantra, one thing they cherish so much.How they adapt to nature with flying colours is a serious business, a sacred duty for the japanese people and their leaders, surely not easy to be emulated by the others.

Here are some sketchy for anyone who is interested in how they adapt to every Season.

The hot mineral baths is famous in winter.

Humans and deer, messengers of God, say some Japanese, live together in area called Historic Nara.

In summer, for those who can escape the crowded cities for the comforts of tropical sunshine go to nortern island.

Spring means the sakura are coming, the famous cherry blossoms that drive most japanese wild in Kobe, where the flower festival takes place.

It's really One of the Best Things about Japan, they're not only live in harmony with their environment, but they enjoy it. What do you think ?
