Definition

1. Definition - Study the definition.

quit unexpectedly, leave, abandon, give up

2. Use - Learn how the slang is used.

When someone “bail_s” s/he doesn’t fulfill his/her responsibilities. You can use “bail” to describe a situation in which a person leaves when s/he should have stayed. For example, if your friend was supposed to meet you for dinner, but he never showed up, you could say that he “bailed on dinner.” Or, if you plan to play tennis, but then decide that you don’t want to play because you’re too tired, you could “bail_ on tennis.”

Examples

1. Examples - Hear some example sentences.

””Dude, I think I’m going to bail on the party tonight. I’m just not in the mood to be around so many peoople. I think I’m going to go see a movie instead.”“

””Hey, what happened to you last night? You totally _bail_ed on us. We were all supposed to meet at Jeff’s house at 7:00. Where were you?”“

””Sarah _bail_ed on our plans for the weekend. I don’t think she likes me. We had planned to go out, but she said she had to have dinner with her grandmother.”“

It means abandon, left.
by Ha (San Jose, USA)
that means; i guess, if someone cheats somebody else, for example close friends – for ex, Jason was a member of the band so every other players believed him that he would never leave them alone but he did, so they felt sad…
by ercan (Istanbul, Turkey)
I think it means to escape from a given situation in an unexpected manner. To leave things behind not telling people.
by Alex (Merida, Mexico)
Let me take a wild guess. I guess that it means something like when somebody promises to show up for a meeting, party and etc…, but ends up not showing up. Then I could probably say that he/she _bail_ed on us.
by Hiro (Chiba, Japan)
