Hi Friends!
If you regularly come and visit our Web site, you may know that I’m getting married this month… this weekend, as a matter of fact!
Miguel and I talked for a few minutes today about the wedding. He wanted to know if I am ready and how I feel about getting married. Listen below!

Migs: So Tanis, how is the wedding planning going? It’s only a few days away!

Tanis: I think at this point, I’ve just decided to, to roll with it and let the cards fall where they may. I can’t worry about it anymore. I.. I think we’re set!

Miguel: So have you been doing a lot of work, or do you have help, or what?

Tanis: Yeah, I have lots of help! My mom is helping, and, and both my sisters are here and they’re helping out, and… Now, all my friends are starting to come into town, so, so that’s nice too. But, I guess the bulk of the work has been done by my mom.

Miguel: Do you have any big fears about the whole thing? Like, something that you, that might go wrong, or… You know, are you nervous about getting married?

Tanis: I’m really excited to get married. I think the, the only things that I’m nervous about are.. it’s more like, um, pulling off a big party, or having the event go well for everybody. And, and I’m scared about not being able to spend enough time with all the people who’ve come into town to, to visit with us. But I just have to let go! (laughs)

Migs: Are you excited about all the gifts?

Tanis: Yeah, the gifts are really nice. That is, it is pretty fun really, to pick out stuff and then just have everyone buy it for you! It’s, it’s quite shocking!

Miguel: Where are you registered?

Tanis: Um… Pottery Barn and Williams Sonoma and Meier and Frank.

Miguel: What about Kmart?

Tanis: (Laughs) No, but if you buy me a present there I’d love to get it!

Discussion

I am still having a hard time believing that next week I will be a married woman, but I’m very happy and excited about it. Like I told Miguel… the only things that I am nervous about involves making sure that the party goes off without a hitch.
I’m trying to just relax and not worry about anything. What I mainly want to focus on is having a great time at the wedding and celebrating the fact that my new husband and I are starting our life together!
