John:  Ya know, the twenties are a real interesting time of life.

Steph:  Yeah. That’s totally true. It’s kinda like at the beginning of your twenties, you’re still a teenager and at the end of your twenties, you’re worried about becoming thirty.

John:  Well, it seems like you’re trying to figure out a lot about your life in your twenties, what your career’s gonna be and how much money you wanna make. And then by the time you get into your thirties, you kinda got things a little more figured out. Or at least I hope to.

Steph:  Right. It’s true. I mean, I don’t think you can live up to your expectations in your twenties. I mean, everyone wants to get out of college at twenty-two and start making a hundred grand.

John:  Yeah. And then we all kinda realize that if that’s possible, but maybe that’s not the most important thing. Don’t you think?

Steph:  Right. Totally. Yeah. I mean, it takes a while to develop your interests. And, ya know, some people might be interested in music or they might be interested in traveling. And it’s really hard to make that mesh with your career goals.

John:  Yeah. And some people are never able to do it at all.

Discussion

A lot of people say that their twenties were kind of complicated. This is not to say that you don’t have a lot of fun learning about life and people in your twenties.
It’s just that some things get easier and some things might get more difficult, like keeping physically fit.
My friend told me last week that she is really excited about turning thirty. She said that she thinks everything will get easier and better, with the exception of her body falling apart.
That made me laugh.
