Jinn

Mother

Jinn:  You should be very proud of your son. He gives without any thought of reward.

Mother:  Well, he knows nothing of greed. He has…

Jinn:  He has special powers.

Mother:  Yes.

Jinn:  He can see things before they happen. That’s why he appears to have such quick reflexes. It’s a Jedi trait.

Mother:  He deserves better than a slave’s life.

Jinn:  Had he been born in the Republic, we would have identified him earlier. The force is unusually strong with him, that much is clear. Who was his father?

Mother:  There was no father. I carried him, I gave birth, I raised him, I can’t explain what happened. Can you help him?

Jinn:  *I don’t know. I didn’t actually come here to free slaves. *

Discussion

This conversation is between a man and a woman who don’t know each other very well. You should be able to tell by the style of speech. Episode I was a decent movie. The best part about it was that it was another piece of the Star Wars story. By itself, it wouldn’t have been a huge hit. The special effects are cool, but they’re not enough to make it a good movie. I give it a 5 out of 10. From the front row, John
