Tanis

Miguel:  Tanis, have you seen any movies recently?

Tanis:  Yes, I saw a movie just the other night Miguel.

Miguel:  And what might that have been?

Tanis:  Funny you should ask, it was 40 Days and 40 Nights.

Miguel:  Okay, which one is that?

Tanis:  Um, that’s kind of the, the, teen movie du jour.

Miguel:  Who’s in it?

Tanis:  Uh, Josh Hardnett and no one else matters, no, I’m just kidding. I don’t even like him, but, um, anyway, it’s like a whole bunch of young, good looking people that aren’t that great of actors.

Miguel:  Is Josh Hardnett the guy from Black Hawk Down and Perl Harbor and all those movies?

Tanis:  Yes, yes he is.

Miguel:  He does seem to be quite the heartthrob lately.

Tanis:  Oh yeah, he’s big time popular with the ladies.

Miguel:  So, anyway, how was the movie?

Tanis:  Well, it was kind of fun, but it was pretty stupid and I thought that, like, the plot didn’t connect. There was too many, like, loose ends. It was fun. You know it was just kind of, like, good hearted, uh, sappy, silly, not that great of a movie, but lots of nice people to look at type of a thing.

Miguel:  Are they good enough to look at to see it on the big screen?

Tanis:  To you, I would say wait for video. You seem like more of a movie connoisseur.

Miguel:  So, my time could be better spent is what you’re saying.

Discussion

Tanis didn’t really talk about the plot of the movie. The main character, played by Josh Harnett, is tired of being in meaningless relationships. He decides to give up women for the 40 days of Lent. His friends make bets on how long he can last without talking to or kissing a woman.
During Lent, Josh Harnett meets a wonderful, beautiful woman. He struggles with his emotions and wants to remain good till Easter, when Lent ends.
Sounds like an interesting movie, right? Tell us if you liked 40 Days and 40 Nights at the Movie Madness message board.
Take care and have a great week,
