Beth: So Anna, have you heard anything about that actress Winona Ryder? Did she get into trouble like in Beverly Hills or something?
Anna: Yeah! She was caught, I, well, ok, she allegedly was caught stealing like $6,000 dollars of merchandise from a Sax 5th Ave.
Beth: No way! That’s crazy! Isn’t she an accomplished actress and hasn’t she had a fantastic career for such a young woman?
Anna: Yeah and she started, oh man, I can remember back, of course I can’t think of the name of any of those movies, but most recently she was in Girl Interrupted and she claims she didn’t do the shoplifting, but they’re trying, it’s going to trial.
Beth: Wow there must be so much media and pressure for her to, uh, say what happened. I wonder what the real scoop is?
Anna: I think with most celebrities we only know what the media tells us so I’ll be curious to see how this one turns out.
Beth: That’s true. I still think she’s an awesome actress and I hope, that uh, she gets out of trouble.
Anna: Me too.

It’s really strange to see someone like Winona stealing. She’s made so many movies, you’d think that she could afford what she has stolen.
Winona claims she is innocent. She states that she stole the items to practice for a movie role. If Winona is convicted, she faces up to three years in prison with counts of grand theft, second-degree burglary and vandalism. She was arrested almost a year ago and just this week the jury selection began.
Hope you have a great week!
Anna
