Water is refreshing. Fruit juice is healthy. Soda can be tasty at times. But is there any drink superior to wine?

You can sip a glass of wine to relax at the end of a long day, or share a bottle with friends. A good glass of wine can be the perfect complement to a nice meal. And, of course, drinking wine on a date can help create a romantic mood.

You don’t have to be an expert to enjoy wine. But for some, only the very best will do. Hear Marni and Mason talk about drinking wine.

Dialog

Marni

Mason

Marni: Mason, do you enjoy wine?

Mason: Yeah, I definitely like wine. But you know, I wouldn’t say I’m any sort of expert on it.

Marni: Well, I’m certainly no expert either, but I do really enjoy it. I actually enjoy it a lot more than any other alcoholic beverage, preferably red wine. And I can tell the difference, but I don’t have like a really developed palate.

Mason: Oh yeah? Have you ever done a wine tasting at a vineyard?

Marni: I have. Actually, I’ve gone to several vineyards and talked to the wine makers and had wine tastings. But by the fourth vineyard, you’re just like, “Everything tastes great!”

Mason: So you don’t do the drink and spit thing just for the flavor?

Marni: I don’t really just sample. I drink.

Mason: Yeah.

Marni: Probably the problem there, huh?

Mason: Do you find, like, it does something different to the experience when you get to either taste a lot back to back, or you have someone there explaining, like, where it came from and the process?

Marni: I do enjoy all that information, because I think wine making itself is such a fascinating process that when the wine maker is there and they’re very passionate about it, I feel like I’m able to enjoy the experience more.

Marni asks Mason if he enjoys drinking wine. Mason says he likes wine, but he isn’t a wine expert.

Marni also likes wine. It is her favorite alcoholic beverage. She enjoys going to wine tastings and visiting vineyards. She likes to hear passionate wine makers talk about their work.

Even though she likes wine a lot, Marni says she isn’t an expert, either. She can’t always tell the difference between different types of wine, especially after she’s already had a couple glasses!

I just wonder why people drink wine?

The mind is that thing which distinguishes human being from other creatures, but when human drinks and loses his mind he/she becomes less then human.

I really hate drinking, and I don’t wish to drink, thank God that I haven’t tested it in my lifetime.

I don’t really like wine, unless it comes from vineyard and I taste it cold enough. Here in Spain wine is very important. I have a friend who is a kind of expert in the theme, and has made a lot of wine testings. she was award with some prices because of that fact.

Here among the young people a mix alcoholic is very famous, called ‘calimocho’ which is made of Coca-cola and red wine.
