Fuaaahhhahahha your jokes still keep good as always, peeps ^
That “old lady standing still” joke will surely irritate any old ladies lol..

Here is another ^

* *

A child, Timmy, asked his father, “Daddy, where do I come from?”

The embarrased father gulped and proceeded to go into long-winded explanation about the birds, the bees, the stork, and anything else he could think of. Finally, the father turned to his son and asked “Why do you want to know?”

“Oh”, Timmy replied, “There is this new kid in the neighbourhood and he’s from St. Louis, and I just wondered where I came from.”

Anja, you got it!  This is how we learn, word by word, phrase by phrase and add it to our collection of English knowledge.

Heather, thanks for your contribution, your example was excellent!

As my students grow in their ability to use conversational English, they like to use it against me.

“Winging it” is such an example.

I had a horrible sinus headache and had taken a strong medication, which made me feel tired and dizzy. Because of the medication, I had to take a nap before class; unfortunately, I slept through my alarm clock. I signed online a few minutes late and I was a bit confused due to oversleeping and the medication. I apologized to my student and started the lesson, but I knew I wasn’t as sharp and focused as I usually am. I stumbled over a grammar rule, but still hoped that the student wouldn’t notice.

After a pause, my student said, “Ms. Heather, are you winging the lesson?”

!!!!!!

I had taught him that phrase the week before.

This really made me laugh. I also felt so proud of him; his usage was flawless!

Joke: A man mistakingly walks on the top of his friend’s shoe and says, “excuse me!”

Friend: “That’s okay, you walk on the tops and I walk on the bottoms.”

Anja, “winging it” means to make decisions as necessary without any preparations.

There are variations of it as Julito has given some excellent examples.

This is a commonly used phrase used in conversational English.  Hope this helps.

CatcheR, as i understood it’s to make fun of how absent-minded Sir Thomas was that he didn’t recognize the Royal family. But remember the movie “Shine”, a brilliant movie. All genius people are concentrated on one thing so much that they miss a lot around. Like David Helfgott, Geoffrey Rush acting, who jumped naked and all in music, forgeting that someone might see him. Awesome! To have such a freedom!

A man checked into an hotel. There was a computer in his room, so he decided to send a mail to his wife. However, he accidentally typed the wrong email address, and without realizing he sent the mail to a widow who has just returned from her husband’s funeral. The widow decided to check her mail, expecting condolence messages from relatives and friends. After reading d first message she fainted. The son rushed in to the room, found his mother on the floor and saw the computer screen which reads: “To My Loving Wife, I know u are surprised to hear from me, They have Computer here and we are allowed to send mails to loved ones. I’ve just been checked in. How are U & D kids, D place is really nice but am lonely here.

“All work and no play makes for a boring day!”

On the surface it appears that it’s only humor.  However, here are some benefits of humor:

1.  Encourages writing in English to express the writer’s humorous thought.

2.  Challenges beginners to try to understand the joke.

3.  Allows an opportunity to laugh, which can be therapeutic in dealing with the stresses of life.

4.  Lowers blood pressure.

5.  Increases vascular blood flow and oxygenation of the blood.

6.  Increases memory and learning.

7.  Improves alertness, creativity, and many others.

All of the lessons I’ve posted on my profile page are full of instruction and teaching, this lesson forum gives students another way to learn English.

I am delighted that you expressed yourself, and hope you will see the benefits.

Here are a couple of links to support the benefits of laughter.   Smile

It’s going to be very warm in Ukraine and the best proof of it is today’s snowfall. You can congratulate me, we have winter again.:)

Anyway, we, women, like to look wonderful and slim. I  guess, men don’t mind  looking sporty too.:)

Thus a joke for all men who wants to seem handsome.:)

A wife saw her husband weight himself on the scale  trying to pull in the stomach. The wife thought that he was trying to reduce his weight on the scale.

So she said,” “You know. I don’t think that will help you anything.”

The husband replies, “Of course it helps. It is the only way I can see the number on the scale.”

Mr. Alston   I have seen old ladies or  a pregnant woman in an  advanced stage standing  on a crowded bus , some passengers  seemed to be” sleeeping” , or rather narcotized  oblivious of their sorroundings, usually others women  are the ones that  stand up and offer their seat . The joke that you have posted is funny and at the same time reflects  a reality  according to my own observation. But not always passengers are like that , and some of them are eager  to sacrifice  themselves for the well being of a  person in necessity.
