Dave Matthews is one of the most popular musicians in the world. His band, The Dave Matthews Band, has been together for over 12 years and has more than ten amazing albums. The band tours the world regularly and makes millions of dollars. In fact, it’s been reported that Dave Matthews himself makes over $20 million dollars a year.
Dave recently released his first solo album. It’s called Some Devil and it’s getting mixed reviews by music critics. Read on to learn more about it!

Dialog

Despite all of his success, Dave Matthews isn’t really a happy guy. He still sings songs of sorrow and despair. However, he doesn’t want to be so full of pain. In a recent article in Rolling Stone magazine, Dave said, “I want to, as desperately and joyfully as possible, fill my life with unusual experiences—make my life full of challenges and accept them. Change is like a vacation.”
Maybe a desire for change is the reason Dave decided to create an album apart from his band. Some Devil is much different than a The Dave Matthews Band album, mainly because it’s much darker and more haunting. The song “Some Devil” is a perfect example. Check out some of the lyrics:

I didn’t know anything about The Dave Matthews Band until a friend gave me their second album, Under the Table and Dreaming in 1995. I loved it the first time I listened to it and it’s still one of my favorite albums of all time. Since then, I’ve been a fan of the DMB, but I haven’t liked all of their music. It just hasn’t grabbed me like their early music did.
Some Devil grabs me. I really like it. Listening to it is a powerful experience. I definitely recommend it!
