Norah Jones has sold more albums than any other artist in the last decade: more than 30 million. And she’s only 27 years old!

Last month, Jones released her third album, titled Not Too Late. All 13 original songs on the album were either written or co-written by Jones.

Many people don’t realize that Jones’ father is the famous Indian sitar player Ravi Shankar.

Amanda:  Um, I do because someone gave me a Starbucks gift certificate.

Kevin:  Sweet.

Amanda:  And as you know, Norah Jones is a Starbucks artist.

Kevin:  Oh, I didn’t…

Amanda:  Did you know that?

Kevin:  No, I didn’t know that.

Amanda:  Yes, they have a contract with her so they will promote and display every Norah Jones album, which is pretty cool.

Kevin:  Interesting.

Amanda:  People who have never heard of Norah Jones, they go for a latte...

Kevin:  Who hasn’t?

Amanda:  I know!

Kevin:  I mean, come on….

Amanda:  But you go for a latte. It’s Norah Jones.

Kevin:  She’s great. I mean, she has a, she has a fantastic voice. It’s amazing.

Amanda:  I have a hard time categorizing her. Would you call it jazz or folk or… I’m not sure.

Kevin:  Well, I think that’s the beauty of her is you can’t, like, peg her, you know. She’s just not in one box, right?

Amanda:  Right.

Kevin:  I mean, she’s… She is an amazing talent, you know, in a number of genres I guess.

Amanda:  And I love it because she has maintained her natural self so it’s… she is not a sex symbol. She nev… she does not want to be a sex symbol. Nobody cares ‘cause the voice is good enough.

Kevin:  Mm hm. It’s amazing.

Amanda:  Yeah.
