Maybe no one saw your dog poop on the sidewalk there. You really should pick it up, but then you’d have to handle it and carry it around, and you really don’t want to do that. Plus, it’s not that busy of a street, so people can just walk around it, right? It looks like rain anyway. The rain will just wash the poop away, won’t it?

No. It won’t. We’ve all stepped in poop on the street. We’ve all dug it out of our shoes with a stick. For every poop on the street, there’s a dog owner who just let it sit there. Kevin and Mason recently spotted someone doing just that.

Kevin: Are you kidding me?

Mason: What? What’s up? Oh my…uh.

Kevin: There’s dog poop and that woman just kept walking with her dog. It’s unbelievable.

Kevin: There’s a bus stop here and everyone’s going to be stepping in the poop.

Mason: Someone’s going to step in it. And we’ve all been there. We’ve all been that like…check your shoes…did I? Oh…

Kevin: Yeah, that’s great. You’re on your way to the movies, God forbid on a date, and aw, a real soft one, all over the shoe.

Mason: It’s so hypocritical because, you know, people in the park, you take your dog to a park, you bring a bag, or they have one for you even. Which is really nice. But just on the street…

Kevin: It’s like a mine field. It’s poop everywhere. I mean, what’s amazing to me is that there are bags…there, you know, those…like…

Mason: Yeah, the dispensers for the…

Kevin: Where there are bags that the city provides…

Mason: It’s so great…

Kevin: ...and yet people still do that.

Mason: ...and the people just let it be. I…you know…and people tie it to the leash or whatever. I think it’s just like nobody wants to…get their hand near the…

Kevin: Well, and it’s not very elegant to walk around with a bag of…

Mason: That it…but we’re downtown, you know? There’s trashcans everywhere.

Kevin: I agree.

Mason: It’s unacceptable. They should be caned.

Kevin: That’s a bit much, but they should pick up the poop.

Discussion

Kevin and Mason saw a woman let her dog poop in the street and then just walk off. The poop is right in front of a bus stop, so they imagine how disgusting it will be when someone steps in it. They imagine how awful it will be if that person is on a date. Kevin compares poop on the street to land mines in a war.

Some parks provide plastic bags so that dog owners can more easily pick up after their dogs. Mason and Kevin think this is a great idea. Even though there aren’t bags downtown, there are a lot of trashcans. Kevin and Mason think that no one wants to touch the poop and that’s why they leave it. Mason jokes that people who leave dog poop should be caned, which is a ridiculous, old fashioned punishment.

What would you do if you saw someone leaving poop on the sidewalk?

It is disgusting when you step in dog poop,I am sure that everyone do not like the way which the dogs owner do with his or her dog ,it is unresponsiable to publics.

there are many dogs in my countryside.the dogs leave many poops in the street,but nobody picks them up including their owners.its pretty disgusting and some unfornate persons stepped in them.its really hard to change this phenomena in my hometown.they are used to it.its really a little sad.

it is really a common problem in any country, and major city where people seems always in a hurry to notice it or pick it up, they prefer stepping in to to picking it up.

My dog don't poop on the sidewalk….he is very polite like me :-)

I have a good look, i think pick poop with hand and bag is a few disgusting.

But if you want have a dog you have do it.

Sometimes i have stepped in poops…I live in south italy and not all the dog owners take care to keep it…. i hate them and I can't understand them.

I think it's disgusting to see poops all around- on sidewalks, in parks, etc. It's just not the right thing to leave your dog's poop right there…ughhhh!
