John: Did you hear that American Beauty won the Oscar for best movie?
Kyle: Yeah, I don’t know why though. I didn’t think it was very good.
John:
Are you kidding me? I thought it was one of the better movies I’ve seen.Kyle: I thought that the blonde in it was hot, but other than that, I don’t get all the
hype.John: You’ve got to admit though that Spacey was a
stud.Kyle: Okay,
I’ll give you that. Bought any good cds lately?John: I just picked up Macy Gray. Kinda
pissed off about it though. I got it for $16.99 at Face the Music, and then I went to Borders yesterday and saw it for $12.99, on sale. I finally get around to buying a new CD, andI get bent over.
Kyle: I like the song they’re playing on the radio right now, but other than that, I don’t know much about her. By the way, I’ve still got those dance cds of yours. You want them back anytime soon?
John: Oh,
it’s no big deal. Whenever you’re done with them. I do want the golf clubs you borrowed, though. The weather’s getting nice and I’d like to get out andhit the links.
Kyle: I know. I’m working on it. You should have them back by summer, 2001.
John:
Very funny.

Discussion
This conversation is very relaxed. We are both just passing time. There is some good slang in it, though. Did you know all the words? Kyle and I are good friends from high school. We’re both pretty busy, but sometimes we get together and talk about how life is going with each other. We can joke around and have a good time. Hope you liked eavesdropping on our conversation! We’ll see you next week. Until next time,—Doc
