There are many great Christmas traditions. One of the most fun is getting a tree for the house.
Some families get their trees from the forest, but most buy them from lots. You can even have a fake tree and use it every year!
Speaking of fake trees, in this conversation, Nedra and Chad talk about their family tree traditions. Have fun!

Nedra:  Um, it’s starting to feel more like Christmas. We just got, uh, a Christmas tree last night. Have you got one yet Chad?

Chad:  Yeah, we usually get a real Christmas tree from the lots, but this time we opted for a fake one – a little bit easier maintenance.

Nedra:  Yeah, we used to have to have fake ones at my family’s house because I was allergic to the real ones. But now that I’m older I can have the real Christmas tree in my house. How do your little girls feel about the Christmas tree?

Chad:  Oh, they like it. They had a fun time decorating it, putting the tinsel all around and the lights… and each of them, over the past few years, for Christmas and birthdays, have been getting some ornaments, um, as gifts, you know, to put up on the tree. So, it was exciting that they could do that.

It sounds like it doesn’t matter what kind of tree you use. The tradition is the same. Everyone in the family can be involved and have fun.
Other fun traditions include stockings, leaving cookies out for Santa and singing Christmas carols. Every family is different, but they all have fun sharing love with each other.
Do you have any special holiday traditions you’d like to share? What’s your family’s biggest tradition and which holiday do you do it on? Please tell us at the Life Goes On message board.
See you next week!
