If it is not properly punctuated, your reader will have trouble understanding your writing, or may even misuderstand it. the following are the prinicipal stops:

4. Colon (:)

5. Question Mark (?)

6. Exclamation Mark (!)

Other marks in common use are the Dash - ; Hyphen - ; Parenthesis (); Inverted Commas or Quotation marks " ".
