Hi Friends!
Singing karaoke is a popular way for friends to party together. Even those with the worst voices can sing karaoke, because nobody really cares what it sounds like. In fact, it’s often more enjoyable when a terrible singer is singing.
Anna recently went out with several of her best girlfriends to celebrate her upcoming wedding. She went to a bar and sang karaoke. Listen to her tell Josh about the experience.

Josh: Anna, you look a little tired this morning. Uh, you been out late?
Anna: I had kind of a rough weekend with some girlfriends.
Josh: What were you guys doing?
Anna: It was my bachelorette party. I’m getting married, and we ended up at a karaoke bar on the coast.
Josh: That sounds fun. Did ya sing?
Anna: I did. It was the first time I ever sang. I needed a little liquid encouragement, but eventually I got up there with a friend.
Josh: You went up and sung with one of your friends?
Anna: No, not one of my friends. His name was Billy. He was from a coastal town an hour North, and he helped me out singing the song.
Josh: Awesome. What song did you guys sing?
Anna: Love Shack! The B-52’s.
Josh: Oh sure, I know that one.
Anna: How could you not. It’s a karaoke classic.

Discussion
Like many people, Anna was a little nervous about singing karaoke. She had to drink a little bit of alcohol in order to feel relaxed enough to get on stage. She shouldn’t have been worried. I’m sure she has a beautiful voice! And, even if she doesn’t, it doesn’t matter. That’s why karaoke is fun! Everyone can do it, no matter what their voices sound like!
I love to sing karaoke. It’s always a good way to relax and have fun with my friends. Hopefully you feel the same way!
Have a great week!
