Hi Friends!
Drinking coffee in the morning has been a tradition all over the world for hundreds of years. In the U.S., coffee shops are everywhere. Sometimes it seems like there’s one on every corner. Starbucks, which started in Seattle, Washington, has become totally ubiquitous in the U.S. and in many other countries.
John and Beth are both regular coffee drinkers. They have to get their caffeine fix every morning. They’ve started going to a cool place called Bridgetown Coffee. Read on to learn why they like it.

John:  When did you start going to Bridgetown Coffee?

Beth:  About a month and a half ago. Don’t you love that place?

John:  Yeah, it’s really nice. Did you know they just did a big remodel?

Beth:  No, this was, uh… The first time I’ve ever been there was last month.

John:  Yeah, about a year ago I started going there and there was nowhere to sit, and it was kinda nasty inside, but now it’s all nice like a cafe.

Beth:  I know, it’s plush.

John:  I guess they sell a ton of coffee there.

Beth:  That’s cool. I had this really awesome drink there the other day. It was called a “Peppermint Patty.” It was like a mocha with, uh, peppermint, peppermint flavoring. It was really cool.

John:  That sounds a little sweet for me. I like my coffee black.

Discussion

Although John and Beth obviously have different taste in coffee, they both agree on one thing – Bridgetown Coffee is a great place to go. Like many other people, John and Beth prefer local coffee companies to the huge corporations like Starbucks and Tully’s. It makes them feel good to support a small business from their city rather a than corporate giant.
I don’t drink coffee, but I do like to hang out at coffee shops. It’s fun to have a cup of tea and read the newspaper or a good book.
Have a great week!

Although I can’t drink coffee, I can’t resist to my daily fix of full-flavoured espresso after lunch. In spite of the fact that Starbucks is way too pricy, I love going there. it’s plush, it gives you some privacy. Plus, I love the smell of rich aroma of coffee spread over the whole  coffee shop. The smell is so intoxicating that’s almost equal an extra cup of coffee and it’s for free :). Kind of a bonus for a devoted customer…  It’s getting very popular, so popular that crowdy though it might be, there still lots of customers standing in line for a cup of Joe.
