Nobody likes to have noisy neighbors. But some people are better at dealing with them than others.
If a neighbor plays his music really loudly, you can try knocking on his door and politely asking him to turn it down. If that doesn’t work, you can try shouting at him, but chances are he won’t be able to hear you over the racket. If you get really desperate, you can always call the cops on him. But that probably won’t earn you any friends.
Find out how Mason and Jeff cope with noisy neighbors.

Mason: So Jeff, you know I bought a house recently, right?
Jeff: Yeah.
Mason: And I mean, there were a lot of reasons, but one, seriously, one of the reasons was my downstairs neighbors, who have a band. And they were always making just crazy noise late at night.
Jeff: Are you a keep it down guy?
Mason: Oh yeah. I mean, I went down numerous times in my PJs knocking on the door at like one in the morning, telling them to just shut the heck up. It’s ridiculous, right?
Jeff: Pretty obnoxious.
Mason: Like you wouldn’t believe. I’m a light sleeper, so I can’t deal with it.
Jeff: What kind of music was it?
Mason: I don’t even know at that point, like my brain wasn’t comprehending things on that level, it was just comprehending LOUD.
Jeff: I rent a house, but for the opposite reason, so I can make more noise without bothering people.
Mason: Really.
Jeff: I’m sure I still bother my neighbors somehow.
Mason: Have you gotten the knock on the door?
Jeff: No, they’re pretty nice, so far.
Mason: Yeah? Lucky man. If you move in next to me, I will defeat you.
Jeff: You’re lame.
Mason: Yes I am. I am an old grouch, and I’m totally OK with that.

Discussion
Mason used to have a neighbor who would have loud, annoying band practice. That neighbor was one of the reasons Mason decided to buy a house. He wanted to get away from his noisy neighbor and have a peaceful, quiet home of his own.
Jeff rents a house because he makes music and he wants to be able to be noisy without disturbing any neighbors. So far none of his neighbors has complained. Jeff thinks it’s lame that Mason is such a grouch about his neighbors playing music.
Have you ever had a noisy neighbor? How did you deal with it?
