Sometimes, these industries cross over. For example, MTV, which stands for Music Television, has a film award.

Steph:  So, don’t you think it’s kind of weird that MTV has a movie award?

Derek:  I dunno. I kinda like it because they do awards for all the things that the Academy[/def] doesn’t do.

Steph:  Oh. Really? Like what?

Derek:  Like Best Kiss.

Steph:  Oh. Huh. That’s interesting. So, it’s kinda more fun.

Derek:  Yeah. It’s, ya know, what everybody goes to the movies to see, ya know. I dunno, I think Best Haircut or Best Couple in a Movie. Ya know, that type of thing.

Steph:  That’s interesting. So, it’s more like pop culture oriented. Not so stiff.

Derek:  Right. Not so academic.

Steph:  Right. I think it’s really cool that they give out the prize, and that would be a golden popcorn bucket.

Derek:  Yeah. I think that one’s really cool. It’s kinda nice to have a little bit of, um, variations on the awards.

Steph:  Totally. It’s much more playful. Ya know, I think I’d rather actually watch the MTV movie awards after talking to you.

Derek:  Yeah. I watched ’em last year and they were, uh, pretty fun to watch. A lot more entertaining, I’ll say.

Steph:  That’s cool. I’ll have to tune in later on in spring.

Derek:  Sounds good.
