Steph: Dude, have you been doing anything interesting lately?
Kyle: No, I haven’t been doing much at all.
Steph: How come?
Kyle: I’m a little tight on money these days. I’m trying to save.
Steph: Oh, well, that’s good. Are you saving up for a big purchase in the future?
Kyle: No, actually, just trying to pay the rent.
Steph: Oh yeah. It’s rough these days, isn’t it? Are you still looking for a job?
Kyle: I am still looking for a job.
Steph: Awesome. How’s that going?
Kyle: Pretty slow right now.
Steph: Oh, well, ya know, take advantage of your free time, I guess.
Kyle: Exactly. And I figured with summer coming up, maybe I’ll buy an ice cream truck and sell ice cream.
Steph: That is such a great idea
Kyle: That’s right. I wanna be a business owner.
Steph: You should.
Kyle: Ok.

Discussion
Between jobs is a hard place to be. I have several friends who are between jobs right now. On the one hand, they are happy to have a lot of free time, but on the other hand, they don’t have the cash to go out and enjoy it.
This can be pretty frustrating. When I was between jobs, I tried to do as much creative stuff as I could without spending too much cash.
Have you ever been between jobs? What did you do to keep yourself busy?
