Some people dread Valentine’s Day. Others love it. Whether you love or hate the couples’ holiday might have something to do with whether or not you’re in a relationship. But even some happy couples decide not to make a big deal out of V-Day. They see it as more of a commercial holiday, and prefer to celebrate their love on their own schedule. Hear how Jason and Amy plan to spend Valentine’s Day with their sweeties this year.

Dialog

Jason

Amy: Do you have any Valentine’s Day plans, Jason?

Jason: Yes, but they’re very un-Valentine’s Day.

Amy: Oh really?

Jason: Yes. My girlfriend and I are going to a basketball game, because last year, we went all out and did an actual Valentine’s Day experience, and it was kind of a disaster.

Amy: Oh no, why?

Jason: Well, we went to this place where there was a lounge singer, and it was like a dinner theater experience, and they greeted you with champagne and roses right when you walk in, and they take your photo, and you get your own table.

Amy: That sounds kinda fun. Kinda cheesy-fun.

Jason: At first it was. But the performer was really bad. And it was really expensive, and the singing was bad, and we couldn’t even talk. And at the end we didn’t feel romantic at all.

Amy: That’s the thing about Valentine’s Day that is kind of annoying. So many restaurants, if you want to go out to dinner with your sweetie, they charge so much more than what they would normally charge. And it can end up just being…You just feel kind of like you wasted money, or you bought into this really commercial holiday.

Jason: That was exactly how I felt. So this year, I said, “You know what? Remember that disaster last year? Let’s just not participate in Valentine’s Day.”

Amy: And your girlfriend was OK with that plan?

Jason: Yeah.

Amy: That’s good.

On Valentine’s Day, many restaurants raise their prices. Amy agrees that going out on Valentine’s Day can be expensive and annoying. She thinks that Valentine’s Day is mostly a commercial holiday.

it’s not required specific only on Valentine’s Day but it is a special day for couples

to show love and thought mind. Valentine’s Day, I thought.

I do not mean only a couple, but can mean the love of parents, relatives, or friends

you can say ’’ you love them ’’

Well, i have parent, relatives, friends.. so i can say i love them too…

and i have a special friend,, and i should say i love him too..if he is not thinking too much about me…

I think valentine’s day only works for those who have a lover, if we don’t have , VD is just another day, do you think? I don’t see any special meaning when I go out with friends, just one of those days.

It’s not a big deal for me, again..every year we do the same thing, exchange chocolates it ind of very boring thing to do, too bad that I don’t have GF :D,

Actually I disagree with some people who are saying The love only in Valentine’s day .

We have love everywhere , But We should select the right time In order to express on our emotional things .

For me I don’t have girlfriend as the same time if I have girlfriend I prefer celebrate at home .

I don’t know what you will useful if you waste your money .

I like spend a nice time with each other .

There are many different ways we can use In order to say I love you .

I would like recommend everyone , if you want to be happy you should know there are a lot thing deserve care more than Valentine’s day .

V.d is a speciall day that we celebrate , it’s for lovers in our country ..

but belive it or not , we had a celebration like V.D in our country frome many years ago . the name of the day is ==> Sepandarmazdgan

Iranian people had celebriated this day from many years ago , even before V.D , we had this celebration :)

but unfortunately , these days our people instead of celebrating Sepandarmazdegan , they Celebrate V.D !!!!

In my opinion , if u LOVE somebody , it’s not important which day is , u should show to your lover EVERYDAY ! not specially on V.D !

but anyway , happy V.D to all couples around the world :):):) enjoy your time on V.D :X

we will selebrate Valentine’s Day but at home:)))

I will prepare the romantic dinner – so we will have everithing without spending too match money and without filling our-selfs the part of commercial system:))

15 years ago Valentine’s Day was unknown holiday in our area. Year by year the tradition to celebrate this romantic holiday come from your countries, dear eBaby members to our countries ( Ukraine, Russia and Belarus).

Year by year Valentine’s Day is getting more and more commercial. But I don’t mind that.

I like the lovely atmosphere in the air during that sweet and kind celebration.

Long time ago I have read the history of the birth of this holiday. It is interesting to read, really. ;)

Wish you all to find your true love if you have not met it yet. Wish you all to keep your love and cherish it if you have already got it!

I never made plan for VD as I didn’t get in a relationship….I never got that luck actually…. but I m sort of happy because I think that Valentine’s Day is too commercial… one has to spend a lot over his girlfriend and I m escaped….

I had one but we broke up because we are traditional people and our parents too…. so we had to break up before tradition…I think.. i m not made for this VD….

But it’s day when two couple enjoy their time being together, moving to romantic places…. nothing wrong in this…afterall it’s also a part of life…..

live as if it was last day of life…...
