Lesson
Merry Christmas everyone!
Since it's Christmas, I thought I'd give a quick lesson on how to pronounce this word using the standard American accent. So many non native speakers have a lot of trouble with this word. I'll make it easy for you with this explanation.
First of all, the "T" is very soft. It's so soft, in fact, that it's not really necessary to say it at all.
The next important point to realize is that the "mass" part at the end of the word sounds more like "miss".
So, if you pronounce "Christmas" like "Krissmiss" it will probably sound A LOT better than how you were taught to say the word. Start listening to how native speakers say the word and you'll know what I'm talking about.
Have a great day guys. I love your comments and likes as always. Please keep them coming. In case you missed it, here was my first lesson: American Accent Lesson 1
