across the board

I am also listening to the music across the board. 

Hello everbody. I want to improve my English. I think I can do it. Help me please!

I have many years ago worked in an office that managment gave yearly average  raises across the board ,the same amount of money ,  independently of the performance of the employee, either it was good or poor. I think that was an unfairly practice.

I’m not able to be across the board. I can say that I always could develop only 1-2 areas which I could become better in. As for me, better concentrating the power on one thing to make good results and good quality. But I really knew some people, especially at the time of studing, they were good in almost all sciences

In the past, the classical sciences were simple and limited so most scientists were mastered in all different kind of fields such as medicine, astronomy, philosophy, mathematics …

But these days when sciences are so complex and are developing rapidly day by day, It doesn’t matter how genius a person might be, still it sounds impossible to know all across the board.

Even some fields of science like physics is divided into some major fields such as quantum physics, nuclear physics … and it would take ages to master in each of these categories.

I’ve never been across the board,i think that nobody does

I have never even been well in something! I think we can’t say someone is the best in across the board.

Being the best is relative, In my opinion no one could not be the best in across the board! All of us have some weakness points in personality, in abilities but someone less and someone more.

Wish one day I can master english across the board.
