What’s the coolest thing you can think of? It might be a new piece of technology, like a smart phone or a shiny sports car. Perhaps, it is a new song by one of your favorite artists, or a movie, or TV show that you are just addicted to. It might be a brand of clothing or jewelry. It might not even be a thing! Perhaps, the coolest thing you can think of is a celebrity or someone you know.

When you describe this thing, there are many words you could use. You might say that it is cool, or awesome, or even rad. Another word that you could use is the word sick. Don’t be fooled! Although sick sounds like it could mean something bad, it actually means something good! We use the word sick in regular English to mean someone is ill or doesn’t feel well. However, when we use it as slang, it means super cool or very awesome. You can use this word to describe anything. The next time you run into something extra-super-awesome, you could say, “That’s sick!”

Musician Harry Styles is grateful for his fans. They give him a lot of support and always let him know that they love him. Because of this, he thinks that they are sick.

Use the word in a sentence! What would you describe as sick?
