Kyle:  Hey, so Derek, what do you think of this sunny weather?

Derek:  I think it’s pretty nice.

Kyle:  I think it’s great. It actually reminds me of the days when I was in school, getting ready for summer vacation.

Derek:  Yeah. I remember those days. What was the best summer break you ever had?

Kyle:  I think the best summer breaks had to be in high school because back then you could still go and swim in the river and play around. You weren’t working all the time.

Derek:  Oh yeah. You didn’t have all those external worries.

Kyle:  Yeah. Once you got into college, got summer jobs, things just weren’t as easy.

Derek:  Yeah. I think I’ll, uh, try to remember about all those days back then.

Kyle:  Yeah. Me, too. Or maybe I’ll just sign up for some more school.

Derek:  There you go.

Discussion

For people in school, summer is the best time of the year. You don’t have to worry about going to class or studying. Plus, the nice weather is a good excuse to go the river and get wet.
When I think back on my school days, I think about summer and all of the fun times I had with my friends. I lived by the beach, so we were there almost every day.
What do people do for summer break where you live? Do people who work normally take vacations in the summer, too?
