2. Read and Prepare - Read the introduction and prepare to hear the audio.
You will go on many adventures in your life. Some adventures will bring you to far off places. Other adventures will be closer to home. Like, going to school or starting a new job. Most adventures reach a point where you can’t go back. When you start a new job, you probably can’t change your mind and go back to your old job. At that point, you are definitely committed to your new job. You are past the point of no return.
When you are past the point of no return, it means that you are unable to go back. You are committed to a plan. If you have a baby, you probably can’t change your mind and un-have the baby. Nope. You should have no regrets about committing to your baby. Move forward with positive thoughts and everything should turn out OK. Got it?
Kelsey and Andy are shooting a scene from the film. Watch as Nestor tries to explain to Andy why he’s past the point of no return in today’s English lesson.
3. Watch - Watch the video without reading the dialog.
Dialog
1. Listen and Read - Listen to the audio and read the dialog at the same time.
2. Study - Read the dialog again to see how the vocab words are used.

Brad: 31 Alpha, take 1.
Nestor: Action!
Andy_H: I think we should go back!
Kelsey: We can’t go back! We’re past the point of no return!
Andy_H: Perhaps, we’re past the point of no return, but are we past the point of going back?
Nestor: CUT!
Andy_H: What’s wrong? What’s wrong?
Nestor: The line is “... past the point of no regrets.”
Kelsey: I’m so sorry. I don’t know how I messed that up!
Nestor: Your line is fine. Andy’s line is “... past the point of no regrets.”
Andy_H: Oh?!
Nestor: You can’t go back because of everything that’s happened, and you all know that now. But you regret having continued. OK?
Andy_H: Got it! Hm. Ah, man! I didn’t think of that. I wish I’d thought of that last scene. Hey, can we go back, and maybe…?
Nestor: Nope.
Andy_H: I just feel like I could have done it better if I would just…
Nestor: Nope. We’re past the point of no return, Andy. There’s no going back. But you can still regret.
Andy_H: Oh?!
Nestor: That’s a joke. Because it’s the same as the script.
Andy_H: Oh…
Nestor: Nobody?
Andy_H: No…
Nestor: Nevermind. Let’s go again!
Andy_H: OK. I don’t think he’s funny.

Brad slates the scene. Nestor calls action. Kelsey and Andy start acting. Nestor calls cut because Andy messed up a line. He says, “...past the point of going back,” when the correct line is, “...past the point of no regrets.”
Nestor corrects Andy’s line. Andy finally understands what the line means and wants to go back to redo the last scene. Nestor tells him they can’t do that because they are past the point of no return. Nestor tries to make a joke, but no one gets it. He’s just not that funny.
When is the last time you were past the point of no return? Did you have any regrets?
