Ahh, haircuts. Haircuts can change the way you look for better or worse. They can complement your facial shape or make your head look like a melon. People can go really crazy with what they do with their hair. But sometimes it’s a little drastic. Mullets might be the best example.
A mullet is a hairstyle which is short on the top of the head but long in the back. It was sort of popular in the 80s. Uncle Jesse from Full House had a beautiful mullet, and women loved him. Maybe, ScarJo was feeling nostalgic when she get her mullet. But are we taking this nostalgia too far?
Marni is thinking of rocking a mullet. Listen as she and Dominique discuss in today’s English lesson.

Marni: So, I was thinking about cutting my hair, and I want to do something totally drastic and crazy. I was just looking at photos of Scarlett Johanssen. Have you seen what she looks like right now?
Dominique: Um, does she have like a bob or something cute and stylish?
Marni: Well, she definitely has something cute and stylish, but it’s a mullet!
Dominique: Shut the front door!
Marni: Yes, and she looks amazing.
Dominique: No, nobody looks amazing with a mullet.
Marni: Uh, ScarJo does.
Dominique: No, like I said, nobody looks amazing with a mullet.
Marni: OK, I think she looks incredible, and it’s making me feel, like, a little nostalgic for that crazy hairstyle which I used to always make fun of, but nowadays I think, like, you can put a twist on it and rock it!
Dominique: Um, I don’t think you heard me. Nobody looks good with a mullet.
Marni: OK, you need to look at these pictures of ScarJo, and you tell me she does not look good in a mullet. Right?
Dominique: OK, let me look at them.
Marni: OK, right?
Dominique: Um…
Marni: Amazing.
Dominique: Yeah… nobody looks good with a mullet.
Marni: OK, that’s your judgement call. I think she looks great, and I’m inspired.
Dominique: What is it they used to say, party in the back, business in the front? Nobody looks good with a mullet.

Marni is thinking of getting a haircut. She’s feeling like taking a risk and getting a wacky haircut like a mullet. ScarJo has one, so why can’t she? It is pretty cute and stylish, especially on her. Dominique tells Marni to shut the front door. Mullets don’t look good on anyone, not even someone beautiful like Scarlet Johansson.
Marni thinks she looks incredible and feels nostalgic for the crazy hairstyles that she used to make fun of. But nowadays, a mullet doesn’t have to be ugly. You can put a spin on it and rock it! Dominique thinks Marni might have hearing problems. Nobody looks good with a mullet. Dominique looks at the pictures of ScarJo. Not even she looks good with one.
Would you ever get your hair cut like a mullet? Have you ever had a crazy hairstyle?
