Gone with the Wind is a classic love story. It’s an epic set in the South during the Civil War[/def]. I love Scarlett O’Hara[/def]. She is so pouty and strong-willed and doesn’t want to fall in love with Rhett Butler[/def]. Rhett is a cocky man that sincerely wants to make Scarlett a happy woman.
Romeo and Juliet[/def]
Shakespeare[/def]’s Romeo and Juliet is another classic love story. In the most recent Romeo and Juliet movie, with Leonardo DiCaprio as Romeo and Claire Danes as Juliet, the two star-crossed lovers live in today’s world, but the actors use Shakespeare’s original prose.
Say Anything[/def]
My favorite romantic movie is Say Anything. John Cusack plays Lloyd Dobler, a genuine good guy who wants to date the valedictorian of his high school. John Cusack has starred in many romantic movies, but this one, I think, is the most realistic portrayal of falling in love.
Pretty Woman[/def]
Pretty Woman is a modern day Cinderella[/def] story. It is a sweet, sappy movie about two very different people who meet one fateful night. Julia Roberts plays a prostitute who is picked up by Richard Gere, a rich businessman. Against all odds, they fall in love and live happy ever after.
