Joe: I heard you went to San Francisco.
John: Yeah, it was awesome. I just got back last night.
Joe: Cool. Where did you go when you were in San Francisco?
John: Um, well, we got there Friday night, and we stayed in a hotel downtown, and we had a nice Japanese dinner. Then Saturday we walked, God, we must have walked 10 miles from downtown, through China Town…
Joe: Oh, wow.
John: ..down to the wharf, you know, ate some seafood there and then through Japan Town… busy day.
Joe: Wow. That’s cool. Did you see any dragons or anything when you were in China Town?
John: Yeah, you walk by and they have that gate going on, you know, and they have the dragons up there and actually they had… there was a funeral that day and so they had a big kinda parade going through with people playing instruments and stuff. It was pretty wild.
Joe: Wow. That’s cool. Was the weather… How was the weather?
John: The weather was awesome. You know, we were… the sun was shining and not a cloud in the sky. And actually Sunday morning we woke up and we were supposed to leave early, but the weather was so good we just said ‘we have to stay,’ and so instead of leaving, we got a rental car and we drove down the coast, all the way down to Santa Cruz and stopped at some beaches along the way and sat out on the beach and had a picnic and stuff. So, it was really nice.
Joe: Cool. Oh, wow. It sounds like you guys had a really nice time.

When people tell stories, it can be hard to follow. The sentences sometimes blend together with lots of different ideas. I admit that my story telling could be clearer. Sorry! I’ll work on that.
The speech here is a little fast, but if you concentrate on one sentence at a time, you should be able to understand.
Have you ever been to San Francisco? Tell us about it at the Life Goes On message board!
See you next week!
