Hi. This is Nedra filling in for John this week.
Sometimes it’s hard to resist food when it’s right in your face. Snacking can be very addictive. Once you start, you can’t stop. We’ve been having a lot snacks at the office. Listen to a conversation between John and Chad during which they discuss our office snacking habits.

John:  Dude, looks like we have a bad habit of eating chips around here!

Chad:  I know I’ve noticed that.

John:  Yeah, we had a party on Wednesday, well kind of a meeting, and we bought chips for it and all this stuff is left over and now we can’t stop eating them.

Chad:  I know it’s hard. Every time I’m on the phone I hear this crackling noise coming from the cube to my left. I don’t get it?

John:   (Laughs) It’s those lime chips man! Those Tostitos lime chips, they’re just, they’re addictive. You can’t get away from ‘em!

Chad:  Well I think our office single handedly supports Tostitos and their and their payroll.

John:  That’s true! Nedra and Tanis – you should have seen, well, Tanis was with you yesterday but Nedra was just going off on those chips.

Chad:  Yeah. I’ve got the grease marks to prove that Tanis was in my car yesterday too.

John:  Yeah, well I have to admit I, ah, encouraged Nedra to eat some of those. I started it myself but she caught on real fast.

Chad:  Well I hear they are real high on cholesterol but it… from the looks of it Tanis and Nedra do pretty good!

John:  (Laughs) Yeah that’s true! I don’t think I’m as fortunate. I gotta cut back.

Chad:  Well you’re not so bad boss! (Laughs)

Discussion

John and Chad’s conversation was lighthearted and funny, which makes you think that they didn’t seem too worried about the bad habit of eating Tostitos chips. You could tell by their tone of voice that they were teasing Tanis and Nedra, but the mention of cholesterol makes you wonder if they will try to avoid eating chips in the future.
Do you like to snack? What are your favorite snacks? Tell us about it at the Life Goes On message board. It’s great practice, and an Ebaby! staff member will help you with your English!
Until next time,
Nedra
