Yesterday Migs and I moved up to Portland. It’s 1 1/2 hours North of our old home town, and is much much bigger so it’s a lot more fun. We were sitting in the living room yesterday evening when we had this conversation.

Migs |
John: This beer really hits the spot.
Migs: There’s nothing better than an ice-cold brewsky.
John: Especially after a long, hard day of work – moving all our stuff up here to Portland. But why did it have to be so hot? It was, like, 90 degrees!
Migs: I’m drenched in sweat. I feel disgusting. I gotta get out of these clothes and get in the shower.
John: You haven’t taken a shower yet?
Migs: I know, it’s gross. But I’m having a beer!
John: Man, that’s sick. But doesn’t it feel nice to be moved up here to a new house and a bigger city?
Migs: I just saw some cute girls out on the sidewalk. This place is great!
John: Yeah, and there’s a park right down the street and a store down the other way, and I saw a little restaurant called the Oriental Express. Maybe we should check that out for dinner.
Migs: Great, I’m starved! Let’s eat!

Discussion
There are some great words and phrases in this conversation. It’s also nice how the mood changes from being tired, to being happy. That’s the fun thing about making a big change like moving. It’s hard work, but it can feel really good when you’re done! How many times have you moved? Have you done so recently? Come to the “Life Goes On” message board and share! See you next week,—John
