Hi friends!
Beth was lucky enough to take a vacation recently. She went to visit her grandparents in sunny Miami, Florida. Florida is an extremely popular vacation destination because the weather is beautiful there all year. In addition to Miami, many people visit Orlando because of the exciting attractions, like Disney World and the Epcot Center.

Beth

Migs: So Beth, how was your big vacation in Miami?

Beth: It was awesome. I went to Miami and Fort Lauderdale. And I, uh, hung out with my grandparents and had a really relaxing week.

Migs: So it wasn’t like the big spring break thing – crazy partying, drinking beer, on the beach all day?

Beth: No. It definitely wasn’t like the MTV spring break. It was more of a family time, hanging out, catching a little bit of sunshine, and enjoying the, uh, ocean.

Migs: So, did you actually get to go swimming in the ocean?

Beth: Well, just in a pool, but it was a little bit cold. It was in the 50’s, so it wasn’t your typical hot sunny vacation, but it was nice, and I had time to, uh, catch up and read a little bit.

Migs: Did you go to any of the, like, hot clubs in South Beach?

Beth: Oh, I wish. Miguel, if I had been to the clubs in South Beach I would probably have more interesting news to report, but, it was pretty, pretty mellow.

Migs: Alright. I’ll look forward to those stories for next year.

Beth: Cool.

Discussion

It sounds like Beth didn’t get in too much trouble during her vacation. She took it easy and spent most of the time relaxing. Sometimes that’s the best thing to do – especially if you’ve been working really hard like Beth has.
If you’re thinking about going on vacation, you should think about going to Florida. It’s a really cool place. Miami is an amazing city and there are lots of cool things to see there. South Beach is one of the most stylish and star-studded places in the world. The last time I was there, I saw Ben Affleck!
