Most artists who were popular in 1997 aren’t still topping the charts in 2010. Usher is one of the exceptions. His latest album, Raymond vs. Raymond, recently debuted at number one. That’s not bad for an artist who first broke into the scene 13 years ago with My Way, an album that went platinum six times.

Now Usher is breaking into new ventures. As a record producer, he helped make Justin Bieber famous. He’s also started acting and appears in the new movie Killers alongside Ashton Kutcher. Find out what Beren and Dale think of this star with staying power.

Beren: So, Usher has a new album out, Raymond vs. Raymond.

Dale: Usher.

Beren: I know, I haven’t thought about Usher...well, I guess he had a song a couple years ago, “Yeah.”

Dale: That wasn’t a couple years ago, that was like 2005.

Beren: Really?

Dale: Yeah, he was a very strong R&B artist. He was very popular, you know, pretty much everywhere. And he mimicked Michael Jackson’s dance moves. And he actually performed with hits, like it’s timeless, I don’t know.

Dale: Yeah, and I think he was trying to do quite a few new ones but it just never clicked, and I think he was working with other artists as well. But now he’s acting, so I don’t know.

Beren: Really, acting? Is he good? I haven’t seen anything he’s been in.

Dale: I haven’t seen him act.

Beren: I like his music though, like I’d say it’s timeless. I wouldn’t have thought that he’d still be around. But I guess he started pretty young. And he still seems very young.

Dale: Yep, and I think he’ll be doing extremely fine as a singer, but as an actor? We’ll see.

Beren is surprised to hear that Usher has a new album out. The 31-year-old artist has been around for a long time. His early hits are still popular, in addition to his new songs.

Dale thinks Usher is a classic R&B artist. Beren agrees that his music has a timeless quality. But neither she nor Dale is sure if the singer would make a good actor.

Usher recently has become a very well-known and year after year he usually surprises his fans with new totally different performance .His album Raymond vs. Raymond has gone platinum. He became famous after his song Yeah and now he brokes the record with his awesome performance of OMG and after Opera's show I think he's gonna draw more attention for his songs . Honestly I came to know about him as a singer and I love his songs but I've not seen his performance as an actor and I'm quite sure he will perform perfectly.

i known that usher could be topping the charts in 201O because each years Usher make a music which become top of charts on the year , like his new single ’’ oh my ghosh’’ i like it and it is successful

Some songs are good, I like "OMG", he is gifted, very talented, but I don't think he will be better than Michael Jackson, although many people say this now, and MJ also like him. Hehe..
