The very center of a storm is not a great place to be. Because it looks like an eye from far away, the center of a storm is called its eye. Some storms have a calm eye, meaning that it can feel peaceful and the sky might even look clear right in the center of the storm. But if the eye shifts, then the rain and the wind come back with greater strength than ever.
Sometimes life can become chaotic and overwhelming, and we feel like we are in the eye of the storm. When you are in the eye of the storm in your life, it is difficult to make decisions or know what to do. The storm is all around you and you can’t see or think clearly. Sometimes you just have to wait until the storm passes before trying to put your world back together again.
The model Heidi Klum feels like she is in the eye of the storm right now. She and her husband, the singer Seal, are breaking up. The break up is still very new and the pain is probably very fresh for both Heidi and Seal.
Because she is still in the middle of this painful situation, or the eye of the storm, Heidi can’t imagine what will happen in the future. Maybe she and Seal will get back together eventually, or maybe they will both move on and be happier apart. But first, the storm will have to clear. It will take time for the trauma of the break up to fade and the pain to pass away.
Do you feel like you are in the eye of the storm in any areas of your life right now? What advice would you give to Heidi?
