All around the world, bread is familiar. It’s a simple food that is delicious and nutritious. Because bread is so common, we often talk about all our food as bread. For example, expressions like “daily bread” and “putting bread on the table” don’t only mean actual bread but all the food necessary to stay alive.

We need food in order to live, but food is definitely not free. Somebody has to work so that there’s enough money to buy food. Traditionally, men were seen as the family providers or the breadwinners. They went to work, while women stayed home to cook, clean, and care for children. Today, women can be breadwinners, too. In fact, many families now need two breadwinners in order to pay all the bills.

Talking about his character in the Showtime series Ray Donovan, actor Liev Schreiber said Ray lives in a world where men are not the main breadwinners. As a man, Ray is having a hard time finding purpose for his life. If he’s not a breadwinner, what is he?

Are you the breadwinner in your family, or is it someone else? Do you think that men or women should be breadwinners?

I’m actually the breadwinner at home once I live on my own,   but it’s something that I do like. Now, in a marriage I think both man and woman should be breadwinner  because this way they might get a better life.

I think that everyone should have a work that can help to realize your professional traits . And this thing both relates to men and women . Of course a lot of women consider that their main realization is in family and children, it’s not bad, it’s also some kind of work. But it’s very important that men understand that keeping the house, children upbringing , cooking and so on is very difficult job. Because in our country it’s considered that if women doesn’t work she is nobody and she means nothing and man is the main breadwinner and his wife can’t solve anything .
I think that both man and woman should work, but of course man should earn more.

Are you “serious” about Liev or kidding ?

cant imagine even in dreams, a star to be a breadwinner, who doesnt even know how many kids he or she could have had from daily relations.

The answer is that my dad is the breadwinner, i am actually the breadkeeper and breadeater, and will soon be the breadproducer/winner/maker.

In our country should be a breadwinner both husbund and wife so that they can pay bills, can buy everything what their children need for. But unfortunately unimployment is big enough here, and if wives get a job they earn much fewer money than men even when they have a same qualification. (:

There is just one breadwinner, and it shoul be the man i mean “Father”,because his  second role after being a father is a breadwinner, and he have to Take responsibility of his wife and his children, and that even the woman works ,she can just help her hasband but not to be the breadwinner,So that’s in our religion”Islam”,and i don’t know  about others.

As expenses are going through the roof, expecting men to be the only breadwinner of the family doesn’t cover all the areas so It’s inevitable that other members have to be the breadwinners too otherwise life gets more difficult as time goes by.

I think ofcourse a man should be a breadwinner in a family. But if the both earn good money it is really good. Certainly it depends on who are they, I mean what job do they have.
