Imagine that you have to write a report for school. What is your first step? If you live in the United States, you will probably open up Google to search for information. On the other hand, if you live in China, your go-to search engine is probably Baidu. If you live in San Francisco and need to get across the Bay, you will probably hop on the BART. However, if you live in Paris, the first train you think of might be the Metro. If you are in the US and need to buy lunch, you will probably grab a sandwich. But if you live in Japan, your lunch might be a few pieces of sushi or a delicious bowl of Udon noodles. Everyone has a different go-to, depending on their personality and where they live.
A go-to is the first thing you think of. For example, what do you think of when you are thirsty? Do you want a nice, cold Coke, or is your go-to an iced tea? When you feel tired, is your go-to a big cup of coffee or a short nap? Actress Aisha Tyler runs into a lot of awkward situations in her career. For some people, their go-to might be to get in a fight. Aisha Tyler, however, prefers to apologize, even if the misunderstanding is not her fault. It’s easier that way!
