How do you feel this week? If it’s been a bad week, you probably feel bummed. You just want to stay home, watch TV, and eat junk food. Or maybe, you’re having a spectacular week. Perhaps, you got a wonderful present from your parents yesterday… a new car! Today, you’re going to hang out with your friends and drive around the city together. Days like these can make you feel over the moon.
The moon is over 300,000 kilometers from Earth. That’s far. If something makes you very happy and very excited, you might have enough energy to jump over the moon. It means that your life is incredible at that moment. This is why we say we feel over the moon when we hear extremely good news or when something amazing happens. Something that makes your day can make you feel over the moon.
Jordin and Andy are hanging out under the mistletoe. Why does she feel over the moon? Listen to today’s English soap opera to find out.

Jordin: Andy, that was so much fun!
Andy_H: I know! Thank you so much for volunteering with me. I was bummed when Sheila said that she was too busy to help out because of her trip, but it was really fun having your help!
Jordin: Yeah, I’m over the moon! I mean, to be honest, I was excited about volunteering, but I didn’t think it was going to be this much fun.
Andy_H: Can you believe how many presents we gave to kids?! I mean, we really made their day.
Jordin: You’ve been doing this with your family since you were a rug rat?! That is so awesome! Andy, just think of all the people whose lives are a little better because of your giving spirit.
Andy_H: Man, I’m bummed that we only have one more day left.
Jordin: Yeah, it’s been really nice getting to hang out with you. Andy… Listen, I…
Andy_H: Yeah?
Jordin: I don’t know, um… I just… I wanted to tell you…. I think you’re pretty spectacular!
Andy_H: Well, thanks. I think you are a pretty…
Jordin: Over the moon and under the mistletoe!

Jordin and Andy are volunteering together. It’s almost time for the holidays, so they’re giving presents to little kids. Jordin thinks Andy has a giving spirit. He started volunteering when he was just a rug rat, and he’s still doing it now. Jordin had a spectacular time with him today!
At first, Andy was bummed. He wanted Sheila to volunteer with him, but she was busy. That’s when he invited Jordin to hang out instead. This made Jordin over the moon. She likes Andy a lot, and because they’re standing under the mistletoe, she gives him a kiss. And then, Sheila appears….
Do you have a giving spirit? What kind of presents do you like to give to people?
