Miguel: Nedra, have you seen that Harry Potter movie?
Nedra: No, I haven’t Miguel. Have you seen it?
Miguel: Actually, I did see it last week and I really wasn’t that happy that I did. It wasn’t a great movie. Did you read the Harry Potter books?
Nedra: I started reading one of them, but I didn’t finish it.
Miguel: Well I wouldn’t really reccommend the movie. It might be good for children, but it totally bored me.
Nedra: So Miguel, what was really wrong with the movie? What did you not like about it?
Miguel: The main problem for me was that it just dragged on too long. The plot wasn’t really interesting and it didn’t have a great climax so it was like there was a big build up and then about half way through the the movie,
it just slowed down and I just got bored to be honest.Nedra: There must have been some part that you thought was cool?
Miguel: Well, I was pretty unfamiliar with the whole Harry Potter thing and the the story is actually pretty neat. I mean the, the, the little kid is a wizard and, um, he goes to a school of wizards and that’s kind of a neat concept, um, but the special effects and stuff were no where near as cool as other big movies these days like The Matrix
and stuff.

Discussion
Harry Potter is an eleven year old orphan who thinks he is normal until one day he discovers he is a wizard and is accepted into wizard school. From that point on, he has exciting adventures with his friends, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley, as they play, Quidditch, and explore secret chambers and talk to ghosts.
Miguel wasn’t very impressed with the movie. I’ve heard from different sources that it helps to have read the Harry Potter books before you watch the movie. The movie is supposed to be very similar to the book, so it might be hard to understand everything in the movie.
Have you seen Harry Potter yet? Do you like reading the books? I hope so!
Have fun with the quiz!
Until next week,
Nedra
