The World Series is one of America’s most exciting sports events every year. The two best baseball teams in the country play five to seven games to decide who is the champion.
This year the Arizona Diamondbacks beat the New York Yankees. It was very exciting because it took seven games for them to do it, and they won the seventh game at the last moment. Check out Joe and Chad’s conversation about it below. And remember, have fun!

Chad

Joe:  Chad, this last week was pretty busy. So busy that I didn’t even get a chance to watch any of the World Series. Did you get a chance to watch any of it?

Chad:  Yeah I did. It was a pretty, uh, magical series. I mean the Yankees, they’re usually always the team that comes back in the ninth inning with, uh, you know, a mystical game winning homerun. But, you know, the Arizona D-backs this time did it. I gotta give them props. They were really, really good to watch.

Joe:  Yeah, I mean it was amazing how, I mean, the New York Yankees, I mean, they’ve won so many times and it just seems like they’re just a well-oiled machine and The Diamond Backs came and just completely wiped ‘em out I guess?

Chad:  Yeah, well, the Diamond Backs are, you know, a new expansion team. I think they’re the quickest to reach the World Series of any of the new teams and they, they just had a bunch of All-stars that came together. I mean, their pitching’s great… you know, it was awesome seeing that the last few singles that floated over the second baseman’s head of the Yankees and just to see that winning run coming into the plate, uh, just gliding into the plate, jumping up, being heaved up in the air by his teammates… it was just a really cool thing to watch.

Joe:  Wow that’s awesome. I wish I could have seen it.

Discussion

From this conversation you should be able to tell that Chad is a big sports fan. Not only did he watch the game, but when he talks about it, you can hear the excitement in his voice.
This conversation was like a lot of conversations where one person is telling another a story. Because of this, the sentences run together more and there is less interaction. However, like I said, this is very common.
Are you a sports fan? Are you happy Arizona won the championship? Do you have another favorite team? If so, come to the Life Goes On message board to share your opinion!
Talk to you soon,
John
