Every day, over 25,000 passenger airplane flights are taken. That means a whole lot of people are flying through the sky at any given moment. Even though flying in planes is now almost as routine as driving a car, there’s still something amazing about it.

But airplane travel is also uncomfortable and annoying. From the cramped seats to the bad food (if you’re lucky enough to have food served on your flight at all), flying can be a pretty stressful and unpleasant experience. It certainly isn’t as easy as the birds make it look. Hear Jason and Amy talk about traveling by plane.

Jason:  Have you ever flown first class?

Amy:  Once. I got a free upgrade, and it was amazing.

Jason:  Isn’t it?

Amy:  It would be so much better if you could just fly first class, especially on international travel. They have those seats now that turn into beds.

Jason:  They do?

Amy:  Yes! They lie all the way down.

Jason:  That’s all I want on a plane. It’s so miserable that I just want the time to pass as quickly as possible.

Amy:  I know. I was on a flight recently that had so little leg room that even for me there was not enough leg room, and I’m a very petite girl.

Jason:  Yeah.

Amy:  And for a six-foot tall guy, it seems like so uncomfortable.

Jason:  And I swear every flight I’m on has at least four babies.

Amy:  I know.

Jason:  At the same time though, I feel bad. Every time I’m on a flight and get really irritable and be like, “I just wish I was in a bed and not this uncomfortable seat!” I have to stop and go, “But I am flying through the air. That’s pretty miraculous.”

Amy:  It’s true.

Jason asks Amy if she has ever flown first class. She says she only got to fly first class once, and it was a great experience. She and Jason both wish they could fly first class all the time, especially on international flights. It would make airplane travel a lot more comfortable.

Jason and Amy talk about the different things that make flying uncomfortable. Often, there isn’t enough leg room on planes. Jason says it seems like there are always babies crying on planes, too. But he still thinks it’s amazing that we’re able to fly at all.
Do you like flying? What are the best and worst parts of airplane travel?

Sorry Madam, I didn´t mean to bother you . my replied. Some times we come across very mean persons.

Snoopy, the place is safe if it’s protected by coral reefs which get visible out of the water. Their sharp edges are an obstacle for sharks to get in. But, you’re right there will be shallow waters which are good for snorkeling. We used to snorkeling in one of those places with coral reefs, fantastic seaworld, amazing colors, but there, on the other side, within 2 meters, behind the colal reefs, there abruptly started deep waters full of all those sea creatures. Yeah, that was scary even to think of it. But flying by plane will also gives butterflies in your stomach. Every time when the plane gets in the turbulence zone, I ask for a glass of gin with tonic. It calms me down.

Julito, I had a lady passenger next to me one time… she had a mean grand ma face

I swear everytime I moved a limb she  gave me a stern look.she was reading a book, and every single move I made  she hated it. she scared me so much that I had to refrain from yawning , sneezing, and getting  up to use the lavatory. worst flight experience

:)

You know Ola…come to think of it ! scuba diving is something I have never done. I enjoy watching clips of the life beneath the sea, it all seem so calm and slow.

but then there are sharks, and Octopuses.. I wouldn’t want to linger too long in their habitat.

Snoopyboy, scubadiving will also give you the feeling of weightlessness, but you can’t travel too far with this kind of ‘transportation’ ;)

If you are traveling overseas whether it’s for some leisure time or business purposes, flying it’s probably the best transportation choice you could ever make.  Mainly because the commute is way faster by plane than any other means of public transportation.

Taking off and landing are the two memorable parts of flying I enjoy. The feeling of weightlessness is simply sensational as the plane is ascending; at that time I just can’t help but to look out the window. Looking down on the landscape, everything seems so quiet and clean, so beautiful. It really feels as if I was zooming out using Google Earth, it all seems so unreal. Until the clouds begin to form and blur this atlas map I thought I was looking down; at that very moment I realize I was indeed flying, it’s an amzing moment!. But when hazy blue sky, ocean, clouds are all  that I can see, I begin to really feel disconnected to life as I knew it, and it’s sort of a bittersweet feeling to me. I begin to feel lost in a universe in which I didn’t belong; I begin to feel wary and restless.  Just sitting in one place where you can hardly stretch a muscle staring at the back of a headreast annoys me a lot. At that point of time it’s really up to the person sitting next to me to make the flying experience exciting. I always like to engage in a friendly conversation on a plane, after all it’s the only thing that can keep me company and entertained when I’m in midst of the clouds . If the person sitting by me keeps a poker face with a headset covering his ears, a book up to his nose… I’m doomed, I’ll be bored to death and how could I sleep when I know I’m hanging  thousands feet in the air!. But when the plane starts to descend, I get excited and eager to meet this place on earth I wasn’t used to. So overall I think flying is a good experiment , it puts me in a position in which I feel so small among the many facets of nature.

But I have to side with Kokokoko though, travelling by train is more fun. Nothing compares to a scenic ride on a train, while you’re sitting comfortably in the lounge car. I never get bored on one. I like the ever changing surroundings: from the hilly country side, up on a bridge, under a tunnel through a chain of mountains, into the city, on the lakeside, you name it. You feel closer to your environment and you sort of have a more personal ‘feel ‘of the new area you are visiting

OLA33      Domestic airlines are so ” cheep” now that  they only give you  a  little pack of pretzels  and it wouldn´t  come as  a surprise that in the future we will have to share it with our next seat  passenger .   I was hungry and I had to use my credit card (they no longer accept cash) to buy a sandwich (7 dollars or so ) OK, as mnal says  , enjoy this trip, hehehe
