Every day, over 25,000 passenger airplane flights are taken. That means a whole lot of people are flying through the sky at any given moment. Even though flying in planes is now almost as routine as driving a car, there’s still something amazing about it.

But airplane travel is also uncomfortable and annoying. From the cramped seats to the bad food (if you’re lucky enough to have food served on your flight at all), flying can be a pretty stressful and unpleasant experience. It certainly isn’t as easy as the birds make it look. Hear Jason and Amy talk about traveling by plane.

Jason:  Have you ever flown first class?

Amy:  Once. I got a free upgrade, and it was amazing.

Jason:  Isn’t it?

Amy:  It would be so much better if you could just fly first class, especially on international travel. They have those seats now that turn into beds.

Jason:  They do?

Amy:  Yes! They lie all the way down.

Jason:  That’s all I want on a plane. It’s so miserable that I just want the time to pass as quickly as possible.

Amy:  I know. I was on a flight recently that had so little leg room that even for me there was not enough leg room, and I’m a very petite girl.

Jason:  Yeah.

Amy:  And for a six-foot tall guy, it seems like so uncomfortable.

Jason:  And I swear every flight I’m on has at least four babies.

Amy:  I know.

Jason:  At the same time though, I feel bad. Every time I’m on a flight and get really irritable and be like, “I just wish I was in a bed and not this uncomfortable seat!” I have to stop and go, “But I am flying through the air. That’s pretty miraculous.”

Amy:  It’s true.

Jason asks Amy if she has ever flown first class. She says she only got to fly first class once, and it was a great experience. She and Jason both wish they could fly first class all the time, especially on international flights. It would make airplane travel a lot more comfortable.

Jason and Amy talk about the different things that make flying uncomfortable. Often, there isn’t enough leg room on planes. Jason says it seems like there are always babies crying on planes, too. But he still thinks it’s amazing that we’re able to fly at all.
Do you like flying? What are the best and worst parts of airplane travel?

For me the best part of travelling in an airplane is the exciting feeling you’ll get when the airplane fly higher that its like you’re on top of the clouds and you’ll see how your country looks like from a very far distance.

The worst part is being uncomfortable with your seat and unreasonable prices of food that they sell in the plane. and also much worst in my case because I have car sickness so i get dizzy when I travel. in addition to that is it really hurts my ears so bad when the plane takes off and landing. :/

But even though I still like to travel on the plane whats important is i reach my destination safe and fun:)

Generally, taking a flight now is a little bit nerve racking. No food is allowed on board. If they offer catering, it’s gonna be something like peanuts or pretzels and that’s it. There’s less and less room left for comfy sitting. If a passenger in front of you wants to recline a chair to the body float position, you’re ’a little bit’ squashed. On one flight, I just got up and was so happy that I could stand in the isle that that feeling of happiness is still haunting me. And now I’ve heard, don’t remember which company,  wants to minimize the number of washrooms and leave only one for, like, a hundred or 2 hundred of passengers. Instead they want to put more seats, to make the “spacious” area more crummy. Well, everything is for making money, but the comfort of the passengers also should be taken into account. Yeah, the train is now a better, almost a romantic choice rather than taking a flight, but it’s pricy and time consuming. And how can you ’rumble’ across the ocean. Another choice—a boat! :) Well, got to choose…

Butta, let me tell you a funny story , my first trip to the US.  I was flying  with Braniff “an American carrier”, they had  overbooked  and to make up for it they put me first class .while on board the flight attendant  approached to me  and told me that they  would give me a special treatment. OK ,nice of you  ,thank you. After  one hour or so  of flying time the same  flight attendant  came over  completely  flipped over  and  started acussing me of  a lier. The story is that she had  made a mistake ,she was supposed to compliment   the famous  Brazilian plastic surgeon Ivo Pitanguy who was flying economy.  Money is power  , hehehe

The first thing I do  when I get into the  airplane is looking at those first class flyers  already sat  in ample couchs, reading the newspaper, drinking wine or orange juice and knowing  that my travelling experience would be that of Jason and Amy. From door to door, Argentina to Los Angeles is about 20 hours ,the food sucks, no leg room, cramped seats, crying babies, I share the same sentiment with Jason: what am I doing here ? i miss my bed.     hehehe
