Marni:  Jason, if you could go anywhere in the world this year, travel to any country, any island, anywhere, where would you go?

Jason:  Well, the key is this year, because the place I would go is Cuba, because Cuba is changing so rapidly, and I understand that it’s, in some ways, a time capsule right now. There’s all these old cars and old architecture, and things just really haven’t been updated. So I would love to travel through time, and it seems like going to Cuba is a good way to do that.

Marni:  I couldn’t agree more. Cuba is so high on my list because I think it’s a fascinating place. But this is a huge world and we have so many places we could possibly go. I personally know that I won’t be traveling anywhere out of the country, so I’m looking at more local travel within the United States.

Jason:  You do? How do you know?

Marni:  I’ve got a lot going on already, so I know that I’m gonna be staying local. But I am planning on visiting one of our national parks over the summer.

Jason:  Oh, OK, which one?

Marni:  I’m gonna be going to Yosemite, and I’ve never been there.

Jason:  Yeah, I mean that’s great. But like, I think to me it’s about prioritizing. I want to get to the places that are happening, and that are gonna change. I mean, when you travel somewhere, you’re not just traveling to another place, you’re traveling to that place at a particular time. You only get this little window there, so you have to time your travel just right, I think.

Marni:  There you go, yeah. I think you make an excellent point. Well, I wish you well on your travel adventures.

Jason:  Gracias.

Discussion

Go Super to Listen Go Super!

Marni asks Jason where he would go if he could go anywhere in the world this year. He says that this year, he wants to go to Cuba because he thinks it would be a fascinating place to visit right now because of the beautiful architecture and old cars. Jason thinks that Cuba is changing quickly, and he wants to see it before it’s too different.

Cuba is a place Marni would like to visit as well. But this year, she plans to stay a bit more local. She is going to visit Yosemite National Park, in California.

If you could go anywhere in the world this year, where would you go? Do you have any trips planned for 2012 so far?

yes Julito, Canadian consulates will put you under a magnifying glass and ask you all kind of questions, you’d think you’ve commited a crime for wanting to visit their country.

Not all Russian, Snoopyboy. I developed the big interest after I got an English friend who has told me much about that country. My friend was the reason for me to be interested in England.

Snoopy,   we have many places  that  attract people around the world, the Patagonia with its glaciers, Iguazu falls, Mendoza and many more.  My shame is  I have never visited them, I have prefered to go abroad, perhaps i am a lame Argentine,” know your country first and then go abroad,” this is what my friends have told me many times. I have been many times in the US,  one month in India, a couples of days in Vancouver , by the way, the Canadian consulate was very strict at the time of granting me a visa.I have friends in Brazil  and their houses are open all the time for me  .Brazilian people are very friendly and the beaches  are great.

Tear up all passports and luggage and laugh when you’re declined a visa and Take a journey with me to Tongue out

 “A Somewhere”  :

Let’s go to…

Anywhere green and remote will float my boat.

To a land of meadows as far as my eyes could see

Somewhere hilly and destitute of civilization

To a   place, horizons away from the city

To a place ,very close to natural

 To an   anywhere …

Where the mountains pierce through some downy clouds

Take me atop a mound where I can overlook a shimmering sea

 Somewhere tranquil…

But don’t deprive me of chirping birds, I’d like to heard crickets too

I’d like to see herds of animals unbranded and wild, I don’t want to hear them coming

Horses, buffalos and reindeers, hares, lambs and squirrels too

I want to smell on some moist breeze and the soil without having to fall on it

Promise me starry nights and a full moon, a shooting star to wish upon

I want to wake in a cottage drenched by a light overnight rain

I want to stretch outside, under a blissful morning sun

Do you know of that place, take me there…

and wave me good-bye,
