Devan: Hi.
Jason: Hey.
Devan: Oh my God. The greatest thing has happened.
Jason: You found five bucks?
Devan: Kind of. My Aunt Thelma died.
Jason: Who’s Aunt Thelma? I’m sorry.
Devan: I don’t even know who she is so it doesn’t matter. That’s not the point.
Jason: You never met her or anything?
Devan: No. But she left me…Guess. Guess how much money she left me.
Jason: Two thousand dollars.
Devan: OK. Take that number and add another two zeros to it.
Jason: Two hundred thousand dollars? And you never knew she even existed?
Devan: Eeee!
Jason: Oh my God!
Devan: So…
Jason: Wow!
Devan: I know. I’m totally freaking out. So I think…I’ve been thinking about it and I think we should travel the world and quit our jobs.
Jason: Yeah. That’s tempting.
Devan: Yeah?
Jason: But, you know, I thought about this and I think that if we…I always thought that if I got, like, a bunch of money that I would start my own business. ‘Cause I think if we just travel around the world we would have to, like, come back and have, like, crummy jobs again. You know? Let’s start a company. We could do anything we want for the rest of our lives instead of having, like, one summer of fun or whatever.
Devan: You’re right. You know…You’re right. You’re absolutely right. Like, I was, like, so hyped on the idea that it’s just like blowing money left and right, going to Paris, and Australia, but we can do that later. And we can do it with more money.
Jason: I like how you think.
Devan: So, what kind of business should we start?
Jason: Well, that’s the question.

Devan has inherited a fortune from an aunt she never knew. She tells Jason that she’d like to go traveling, but Jason has another idea: why not start a business? That way the money will change their lives forever.
Plus, as Devan points out, after her business gets going, she can travel with even more money! Now all she has to do is figure out what sort of business to start.
What kind of business should Devan start? What would you do if you inherited $200,000?
Read Devan’s blog about what she would really do if she inherited a fortune.
